Où se situe Seychelles?

Of all the archipelagos (cluster of islands) scattered throughout the Indian Ocean, the most serene and peaceful area is where Seychelles is situated. It is a 115-island country that is located at the eastern border of mainland East Africa. Other popular countries that surround Seychelles include Mauritius, Madagascar, Reunion, Mayotte and Comoros.

Seychelles consists of both inner islands and a granitic group. The inner islands include a total of 45 islands composed of coral and are thought to have surfaced from the ocean about 100,000 years ago. The outer granitic giants have existed since pre-historic times and that is where 90% of the Seychelles’ population resides. The uninhabited islands, where Seychelles is, are a natural reserve for a variety of tropical and sub-tropical wildlife species. Granitic Seychelles comprises of Silhouette Island, Curieuse, Felicite, Marianne, Aride, Conception, Cousin, Anonyme, Eden, Hodoul and many more.

The highest point of the country is located towards the northwest of where Seychelles is.
