Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco located in the Northwest. Located near the Atlantic Ocean, it is considered the largest port in North Africa. The city is situated on the Chawiya plain in Morocco where the Bouskoura forest is a great natural attraction with Palm, Pine, and Eucalyptus trees filling the area.

Important suburbs and towns that are located near Casablanca include Oulad Hriz Sahel, Ben Slimane, Settat, Bouznika, and Skhirat. The city itself comprises of various tourist hotspots that attract visitors from all around the world. It's important that you understand where Casablanca is situated, as you can visit various other attractions located in nearby cities and town while you are at this city.

Ville Nouvelle, or the new town, is a great tourist attraction in Casablanca. The famous French architect known as Henri Prost designed the town. The main streets radiate from Place de Nations Unies that at in the past served as an important market place in the city. Architecture in the area is styled in the combination of Art Deco and Hispano Moorish.
Another popular site in Casablanca is the Old Medina that predates French colonial rule. The area has undergone renovations in recent years to make it more attractive for the tourists. You can find bastion, or skala, clock tower, and various shops in the area.

The Hassan II Mosque, designed by a French architect Michel Pinseau, is considered the iconic symbol of the city. Its minaret is the world's tallest at 210 meters, and it is the third largest mosque in the world. Casablanca is also home to the Cathédrale Sacré-Coeur. This cathedral is no longer used for religious purposes and serves as a classic example of the medieval French architecture style known as Mauresque.
Mahkama du Pacha is a historic building in Casablanca that contains around 60 ornate rooms with carved wooden ceilings and beautifully tiled floors. You can enter this place for free and take pictures to remember the place when you get back home.

The Parc de la Ligue Arabe is the largest park in Casablanca. This park is a great place for walks and games, and contains various small cafes. Other sites of interest in Casablanca include the Casablanca Marina, information technology business cluster complex, and the Casablanca Technopark. Overall, Casablanca is a magnificent city for the tourist. You can find lots of shops, museums, eateries, and other attractions in the city.
