Where is Bali?

Bali is known for its beauty, but if you were to ask someone ‘’Where is Bali’’ you’re not likely to get an answer. The reason is that it is much more famous than Indonesia is for tourists. Bali is a popular tourist spot in Indonesia. It is an island, and is known for its beautiful landscapes and shores. Bali is also famous for having a thriving arts and entertainment culture, and is mentioned many times in popular media. It was made famous decades ago by the book Eat, Pray, Love, and when the movie came out recently there was a resurgence in its fame.

Where is Bali Geographically? Bali is one of the many islands that make up Indonesia. It is a province, and its capital city is Denpasar. It is located close to the equator; its just 8 degrees away from it on the south. Bali is also very close to Java, another Indonesian island, just at a distance of 3.2 kilometers from it. Between Bali and Java you will find the Bali Strait, a stretch of water which goes on to connect to the Bali Sea and the Indian Ocean. On the east side of Bali, you will find the island of Lombok, with the Lombok Strait separating them.
There are many mountains in Bali, most of them located in the central region of the province. Many of them have elevations of over 3000 feet, and just make the surroundings more beautiful. The highest mountain in Bali is the famed Mount Agung, with an elevation of 3031 feet. The mountain is referred to by the local mountains as the ‘’mother mountain’’ and it is an active volcano. The mountain range starts from the central regions, and goes on towards the eastern side. It is the volcanic nature of the place which contributes all the beauty, as volcanoes make the surrounding areas very fertile.

Bali also boasts natural wonders in its waters. It is located in a region with more biodiversity than anywhere else in the world, thus giving you the option of seeing nature like no other place. You will see beaches with black sand, as well as beaches with white sand. You will also get the chance to see beautiful coral reefs, as the island is surrounded by them. Bali truly feels like paradise on earth, and the thriving tourist culture only makes the experience better.
