Where is Brazil? The country is located in the eastern coast of South America and shares borders with Uruguay to the south. It is also the largest country in the Latin American region besides being the 5th largest worldwide according to population and area. The most populated areas of the country are three cities called Belo Horizonte, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro which form a triangle and are considered the main economic pivots which the country relies on. Each of them is worth a visit but Rio is considered a prime tourist destination due to its inherent beauty.

There are several amazing places to visit in Brazil. The south side of Brazil comprises of Parana, the Rio Grande do Sul and the Santa Catarina along with most of the river system called Parana. It also boasts two cities namely Belem, which is located at the mouth of the rainforest and Manaus which is located about 1600 km upstream.

Brazil’s climate varies from region to region. It is mostly tropical on the north side and experiences temperate temperatures on the south. Areas that are located below the equator can experience hotter temperatures understandably but it rarely goes above 40°C. However, it can get cool enough to warrant a jacket especially when the rainy season starts and precipitation levels may also vary according to region.

The country experiences massive amounts of rainfall on a yearly basis. Anywhere between 1,000 to 1,500 mm is normal during the summer months but it can go as high as 3,000mm in the western parts of the Amazon. The seasons may also vary according to where a region is located with respect to the equator.
