Where is Brussels?

Brussels is the capital city of Belgium that has various attractions for the tourists. When you know where is Brussels located and all its attractions, you will certainly want to pay this city a visit. Brussels is geographically located in the heart of Belgium, which shares borders with France, Germany, Netherlands, and Luxembourg in Western Europe. The city is situated about 60 miles (97km) away from the North Sea. It enclosed by the Valley of Senne River and is bordered by Flemish and Wallonia regions. Brussels contains about 19 municipalities that include the city of Brussels, Evere, Anderlecht, Koekelberg, Ganshoren, Jette, and others.

The city itself is shaped like a pentagon with wide boulevards. It is comprised of two towns known simply as the upper and lower towns. The upper town is located on the east slope of the Senne Valley and consists mainly of governmental buildings such as the Parliament building, offices of the ministries, and the Royal Palace. The lower town is the main industrial and business hub of the city that includes various historical monuments.

The Atomium situated on the Boulevard du Centenaire is another place worthy of a visit in the city. The nine steel spheres comprise of various restaurants and exhibit halls.

Then there is the Parc du Cinquantenaire, which is a large public park in Brussels that was build during the time of King Leopold II. The park houses the Cinquantenaire Art Museum, the Royal Military Museum, the Temple of Human Passions, the Great Mosque of Brussels, and the AutoWorld Museum.
