Canada also has the largest number of fresh water lakes in the world, along with fresh water glaciers in the Coast Mountains and Canadian Rockies. The country experiences continental climate, which means that the weather is cold in most parts of the country throughout the year. In the coastal regions, the average temperatures go from 5°F during summers to -40°F during winters. However, the non-coastal regions can experience up to six months of snow, while in some northern areas, snow covered plains are found throughout the year.
