A lot of people wonder where is Milan. It is one of the most important cities in Italy, and is known for its urbanity, beautiful architecture, and the fashion industry. Thousands of tourists visit this city every year just to enjoy the night life, amazing food and to shop around.
The city becomes too humid in the summers and cold during winter, which is why it is recommended that you visit it during autumn or spring season. Keep in mind that most of the museums and restaurants are closed on Mondays. The city has both historical architecture as well as modern sights. Milan has Santa Maria alle Grazie Basilica, which is UNESCO's World Heritage Site, and is home to Da Vinci’s famous painting The Last Supper.
Now that you know where is Milan, it is important that you should know how to get there. The city has two international airports, namely the Malpensa airport and the Linate airport. It even has some additional airports with budget airlines such as the Orio al Serio airport and the Parma airport. If you want to travel by train, then you will have to go to main railway station, which is the Central Station that is operated by Trenitalia. The motorways in Italy are excellent, so you can even travel by car or take a bus. Other options of transportation include metro, tram, taxi and bike.
Milan has several museums an you should visit including the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, Contemporary Arts Pavillion (PAC),Gallerie d'Italia piazza Scala, Museo d'Arte Paolo Pini Hangar Bicocca Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology, Museo del Duomo (Museum of the Cathedral), Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, and the Poldi Pezzoli Museum.
Other historic sites that you must checkout include Arena Civica, Cimitero Monumentale, Cinque Vie historical district, Corso Vittorio Emanuele Corso Magenta, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, La Scala Theatre, Piazza Cadorna, Piazzale Cordusio, Porta Romana, San Siro Stadium, Villa Necchi Campiglio, and Villa Simonetta. Some of the must visit churches are Saint Ambrose, San Giorgio al Palazzo church, San Marco Basilica, San Vincenzo in Prato basilica, Santa Maria della Passione basilica, and The DuomoSaint Mary of the Graces.
Milan has some great restaurants and is known to have great pizza. Some of the must visit places include Armani/Nobu, Biffi, Chandelier, Da Abele, Il BrellinGiannino, Pizzeria Da Giuliano, and Pizzeria Spontini.
