Where is Mongolia?

Mongolia is a country located towards the east in central Asia. The country shares border with China to the east, west, and south, and Russia towards the north. It was here in 1206 that Genghis Khan made plans to become the great Khan, ruler of the entire world – a plan that he nearly succeeded in achieving by establishing the largest empire the world had ever seen at that time known as the Mongol Empire.

Visitors can find various interesting places of visit in Mongolia. The country is known as 'Land of the Blue Sky' or 'Country of the Eternal Blue Sky' due to receiving more than 250 sunny days every year. The highest point in the country is known as the Khüiten Peak that is located far west of the country.
