Where is San Jose? This is the capital of Costa Rica and is located on a plateau in Central Valley at 3,700 feet elevation. It is also considered to be the largest city in the nation and the central transportation hub. Boasting verdant mountains and valleys, the city is a popular tourist spot for vacationers who wish to leave their worries behind in a location that offers innumerable fun and relaxing activities. Besides the main airport, San Jose also comprises of several museums, hotels, markets and cultural locations so you will never be bored when you travel there.
The weather in San Jose depends on the route its winds take and the yearly seasons. For instance, don’t be surprised if you experience cold months at the end of the year as well as in the middle. Most Costa Ricans are quite comfortable during the cold months. Since the country is quite large it is little wonder why weather temperatures can differ in different cities even the ones that lie close to one another. Due to its elevation, the city experiences average temperatures amounting to 70 to 80°F but it can get a bit nippy at night so best pack some warm clothes as well.
When you arrive in San Jose, you will find a local bus stop on the other side of the car park which you will spot as soon as you get out of the airport. It will take you less than a dollar to reach downtown on a bus which is the cheapest option. Once there, get a taxi to take you the rest of the way to your hotel or wherever your final destination is and save money.
You can also find buses to and from the city from Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras but no central bus station as such.
However, there are literally limitless bus terminals in the downtown area which you can use to get almost anywhere in the city. If you are there on business, then you are in luck; nearly every company has its own terminal in the city spread out across a couple of blocks from downtown San Jose. If you want to know where is San Jose, then the best thing to do would be to search tourist websites or ask people who have already travelled there. It would also be a good idea to ask them when you should visit for the best vacation.
